List

Prerequisites

1.If you are editing or adding a web form based server, knowledge of http get and post methods is required.
2.If you are editing or adding a whois server, you must know of a valid whois server for the TLD or domain extension.
3.To add a new server, you must find a unique string which indicates that a domain name is available. If that string is missing, the domain name is assumed to be taken.

If you are not familiar with table windows, please read Working with table windows first.

The Manual Domains Whois Servers window lets you provide whois server information for TLDs or domain name extension so that customers placing orders in the order form can be informed of domain name availability. The following is a description of the columns in this window:

Extension

The TLD or extension of the domain name. This field is editable only when adding a new whois server. The edit mode for this field is a textbox.

Server

This can be a whois server host name or a url to a web form. The type field has to be set appropriately to indicate the type of server. The edit mode for this field is a textbox.

Type

Type of server. Valid values are whois for a whois server, http(get) for a get method web form and http(post) for a post method web form. The edit mode for this field is a dropdown list.

Parameters

The post or get parameters to be included in case of a web form. The placeholder [%DOMAIN%] will be replaced with the first part of the actual domain name (that is, domain name without the TLD or extension). The format of the parameters field is name1=value1&name2=value2&name3=value3... The edit mode for this field is a textbox.
